German Länders
Introduction: Reading of a German coin
Some essential reminders on the German coins:
There are five variants for each German part: their workshop which is, for memory
A = Berlin, D = Munich, F = Stuttgart, G = Karlsruhe and J = Hamburg
To avoid the risk of confusion with the two "D" engraved in capital letters, know that the "D" of Deutschland is slightly larger than the "D" of the Munich workshop.
The indication of the issuing country has changed form on several occasions.
Four images to illustrate this point:
Until 2009
"BUNDESREPUBLIK DEUTSCHLAND"
was registered inside the crown of coins.
2008, Deutschland inside the crown
D of Munich surrounded
Between 2009 and 2012
The "D" of Deutschland
has replaced the ancient indication, stll situed inside the crown of coins
2010, D inside the crown
D of Munich surrounded
Since 2013
The "D" of Deutschland
always appears Country have indication of the broadcasting, but it can be placed wherever inside the coin.
2013, D down the coin
A of Berlin surrounded
Here in 2015
The "D" of Deutschland
always appears Country have indication of the broadcasting, but it can be placed wherever inside the coin.
